Indigenous Evaluation Network

The Indigenous Evaluation Network works to connect Indigenous evaluators across Canada and the world. The network will enable new, emerging, and experienced Indigenous evaluators and Indigenous program service providers to connect, network, build capacity, engage in mentorship, and expand the field of Indigenous evaluation by providing a central resource and hosting networking opportunities for the benefit of Indigenous communities. The network launched earlier this year with an opening ceremony.

2026 IEN Summit

The 2026 IEN Summit is set to take place in person ONLY on February 27 – 28, 2026, at Carleton University. Learn more about the summit or click the button below to register.

We are seeking Ottawa-area residents to volunteer for this exciting event. Email Andrea at [email protected] if you can help.

This is a dedication to mino-bimaadiziwin — the good life (an Ojibway language word, endorsed by the Anishnawbe ancestors).

Opening Ceremony

View our Indigenous opening ceremony by Grandma Pauline Shirt (may she rest in peace). The ceremony took place to celebrate the commencement of the 2024 Indigenous Evaluation Summit and the launch of the Indigenous Evaluation Network.

Network Early Registration

The Indigenous Evaluation Network accepts early bird registrations before the network is fully developed as a Charity. Our mission is to bring evaluators, Elders, and community members together to benefit the Indigenous communities. With our combined experience as a team, we know evaluation should include and consult Indigenous ways of life and knowledge when supporting Indigenous Peoples’ goals for programs and services. Non-Indigenous evaluators and programs are welcome to join the network.
